This project was exhibited as part of the show oscilações 01 in May 2025 in Lisbon, and oscilações a sul in October 2025 in Odeceixe.

Rooted in the unstable is about things growing from the sand and things growing from the water. Intensive farming and tourism are the two biggest threats to the unique biodiversity of the Costa Vicentina and Southwest Alentejano. The changeable nature of habitats such as sand dune systems and Mediterranean temporary ponds make them even more susceptible to these external pressures. Some species such as Biscutella sempervirens subs. vicentina only exist here in this region. This series is a result of an exploration of these habitats with the guidance of naturalist Martinho Reis and president of the Rewilding Sudoeste association Nuno Carvalho. A reminder that a myriad of other realities exist just outside our made up hierarchy of consciousness and that every living being is as important as any other, in a net of interconnectedness that supports the whole.
